S78 mPT #0: The Myth Due: Sunday, August 11th @ 11:59 PM PST

Would need to be just chasing a cup while my current team is rebuilding. But my team is in the middle of a cup hunt, so why would I leave?

Let's implement some kind of term limits for your team. You can only play 8 seasons with your SHL team. Then the old players will be forced out.

Uh, I am not sure how to answer this question as I just joined a new team in the offseason.  I can say that being a temperable player was the least exciting time in my life.  Only 3 teams reached out to me out of the 19 teams that could ... It was a deflating experience to say the least

When I'm getting old and useless (next season), I may go if some friends come calling, just to hang with a different set of cool folk. But I'm pretty committed to the Texas project

I don't plan on ever being available via free agency, at least with this player. We'll see what the future holds, though. If I were to go to free agency, it would only ever be due a desire to chase a cup.

The Banes family legacy will be Carolina - Montreal. Everything else is just a sideshow. Roddy B and Roddy B2 will live and die Patriotes. That's simply how it's done. Moving on to chase a cup in the retirement year is the only exception, but that really doesn't count. Does it?

Free Agency is something I have only ever tried once. I cannot say I foresee it happening. But the only times i've ever left a team where when a contract was out and the direction had changed.

At this point in my career, I gotta think about how much time I still have left and what I can still realistically achieve in that limited timeframe. The three things I can think of would be: A stacked team that gives me a good chance to win another cup or two (which arguable I already have), a team that hasn't won anything for a long time or maybe even never in their existence, where I can help them finally break through, or a team that offers me lots of playing time and some good linemates to allow for some stat-padding.

it would take the entirety of the Atlanta core to all leave for one team, in which case I would likely attempt to follow them. Inferno ride or die!

The only reason for Tom Pedersen to try free agency is if his contract with Calgary does not get renewed. Ever since being drafted Tom Pedersen has wanted to play for Calgary Dragons his entire career.

I have only entertained free agency once in my career (with a different player) and it was basically when new management came in. But I had a great talk with the new GM and had no issues staying. If the team had no real goal or vision to improve, I'd probably consider free agency.

considering that I am a SHL gm that I cannot go anyhwere in free agency. So I would have to step down in order to go into free agency

I've been on this site for like 7 years, and I don't think I've ever hit free agency. It might be nice, some day, but I don't think I'll ever have enough tpe to be sought after. So, I won't be seeking out free agency.

Money. I wish we played in a league where actually seeking bigger contracts was possible. I doubt many would take advantage of it, but I enjoyed actually negotiating contracts back in the old days.

Honestly throughout all of my sim league careers, I have never left in free agency. It would probably take some serious issues to consider leaving, but who knows, my mind could randomly change in the future for ring chasing or something like that.
