Well it would take probably some massive overturn in the locker room and management. If the SHL is trying to make free agency more exciting it has to be understood that a big issue is that effectively every team has equal resources. There is no true big market/small market team because there is no actual economy. Essentially the even playing field means that the only thing that really matters is the LR, FO, and championship chances.

I wouldn't do the free agency thing unless the team I was on sucked.  I think it takes time to build a team, and by going into free agency, that kind of makes things hard on the team.

I'd probably be willing to bail in free agency if I fail to win each of the major awards within 2-3 seasons. It's time for me to enter my diva era

It would take the LR being an awful place to hang out for me to want to leave in FA. For the most part I'd rather give the team an opportunity to trade me rather than just testing free agency.

I think it would take a lot for Matiss to seek free agency during the off-season. I think the only reason that he would seek free agency would be to try and join a championship contending team to be able to win one final championship before he retires when that time comes.

My first player never went to FA(coz I went IA) so I would want to test it eventually I think just because I haven’t before. I have absolutely no desire to leave Chicago right now though since everyone there is great and we’re building something special I think. so maybe when Leo is older and starting to regress I’d try it out but no time soon

Considering I just hit free agency and wasn't contacted by a single team I'd have to say it really isn't all it's cracked up to be.
