[2x Team Spotlight] Chicago Syndicate draft numbers
#1

Welcome to the next part (part 6) of where do the draftees come from? This week the spotlight is on the Chicago Syndicate. Again for the rules you can go back to the first article (Edmonton Blizzard) findable down below.

The Chicago Syndicate have a pretty in the middle amount of players, with a total of 34 players being drafted to the Syndicate. Of these 34, 9 are not in the portal, which leaves 25 who are still in the portal.

Firstly once again, the season in which the draft took place. For the Chicago Syndicate none of the drafts have more than 3 people being drafted. S62, S64, S65, S67, S69, S72, S73, S74, and S75 all have 3 draftees going to the Syndicate. After this come S70 and S66 with 2, and S71, S68, and S63 with 1 each.

Next up the rounds in which the draftees were taken. This is, if I remember correctly, the first team which has more 2nd, and 3rd round draftees than 1st round draftees, with 13 players being drafted in the 2nd round, 10 in the 3rd round, and 7 in the 1st round. The 4th and 5th rounds have 2 players drafted each.

In the next few charts the players who are missing on the index won’t be taken into account, which means the 34 we started with go down to 25.

Next up is the position, which has some surprising results, as there are 2 centers, 3 right defenders, and 2 left defenders. This means that the other 15 players are either right or left wingers, who are divided between 7 right wingers, and 8 left wingers.

Following this up is the J-round of these draftees. But before we can go to that, we need to exclude the 10 player who were gotten on a waiver wire, and thus not part of the J-draft.

Going on with the 15 remaining players, we see 5 going in the 1st round, 3 in the 2nd round, 2 in the 3rd round, 3 in the 4th round, and finally 1 in the 5th round of the J-draft.

Now to finish it off with the question where the players came from. The Nevada Battleborn are instantly noticeable providing 6 of the 25 players. The Newfoundland Berserkers follow closely with 5 of the 25. No J-team provides 4 players, but both the Vancouver Whalers, and the Yukon Malamutes provide 3 players each. With 2 players we have the Kelowna Knights, and Quebec City Citadelles, with 1 player being provided by the Carolina Kraken, Colorado Raptors, Regina Elk, and St. Louis Scarecrows.

And that was it for the Chicago Syndicate, but we still have the slightly chaotic big chart showing all 6 teams done so far.
