[2x Team Spotlight] New Orleans Specters draft numbers
#1

Welcome to part 10 of the draft numbers, the halfway point has arrived, at least after this article. This time it is the New Orleans Specters. Once again see part 1 for the initial rules, and part 7 for a small addition which happened with the player  portal update.
The New Orleans Specters has drafted a total of “only” 31 players over the covered seasons, 7 of which came from the waiver draft, but there are no players not in the portal at this moment.

Of course first things first, the season in which the players got drafted, instantly obvious is the low amount of draftees in the first few seasons, where in the first 5 seasons, they only drafted 2 in S64, and 1 in S66. Outside of S63, S65, and S67 they also didn’t draft anyone in S71. The highest amount of draftees was S69 with 6 draftees, followed by S73 and S74 with 4 draftees, S68, S72, S75, and S76 had 3 draftees, while S64, and S70 had 2, and of course S66 having 1 draftee.

Now comes the round in which the players where drafted, for the SHL draft. Around 2/3rd’s for the players where drafted in the first 2 rounds, with both having 10 players for a total of 20 of the 31 draftees. Round 3 then adds another 6 players, with round 4 adding 4, and round 5 having 1 more draftee, for the total of 31.

Now the player positions, first off there are 5 unknown player positions (not active players in the portal). Meaning we only got 26 positions. The biggest amount of players are drafted for the wing positions, having drafted 7 for both sides (right wing/left wing). Following this we see the 4 goalies drafted as the next biggest position, then come the right defense, and centers with 3 each, and the left defense finishes it off with the final 2 players.

Now onto the J-draft round, where the mentioned 7 waiver wire players will not be found in. Meaning on only 24 players. The first round has the most with 8, but the 2nd round’s 7, and 3rd round’s 5 players are very close behind. Then finally the 4th and 5th round have 2 players each.

Now onto the J-teams that the New Orleans Specters drafted from. The biggest group comes from the St. Louis Scarecrows having seen 7 of their players drafted by the Specters. The Maine Timber follows closely behind with 6. A bit of a gap to the 4 players of the Kelowna Monarchs makes the 3 big J-teams. Next up is a big group of teams having 2 players drafted by the Specters, these teams being the Colorado Raptors, Detroit Falcons, Nevada Battleborn, Quebec City Citadelles, and the Regina Elk. Meanwhile 1 player was drafted from the Anchorage Armada, Great Falls Grizzlies, Vancouver Whalers, and the Yukon Malamutes.

Finally: The mess that has become this all J-team to all SHL-team overview.

Ohhh, I like statistics and graphs!

Just a note - I was drafted by the Specters in S61 and came from the Carolina Kraken. I don't see Carolina in your 5th image though.

That would indeed be correct, went back to the S62 SHL draft, as the S61 SHJML draft was the first one with all (when combining Anaheim and Yukon) 14 SHJML teams.

Cries in giving NOLA two max earners from 61
