[2x Team Spotlight] Toronto North Stars draft numbers - FuriousChicken - 06-30-2024

Welcome to the 14th entry in the team of these team of the week articles. This time we will be looking at the draft numbers from the Toronto North Stars. Once again if you want to see the rules see part 1 for the initial rules, and part 7 for the addition to it.
The Toronto North Stars have drafted 61 players in total, however 6 of these are not in the portal, and another 11 got into the SJHML via the waiver draft. Apart from this there are 10 players with an unknown position.

So let’s start with the season the players got drafted into the SHL. We can really see a big wave effect in their draft classes, with S70 having a massive 10 players, following this we see S64 on 9 players, then come S71, S73, S74, and S75 on 6, while S72 also has 5 just like S63. Then we see 3 players coming in S65, and S66. Finally S62, and S76 both have 1 player. This means that S67, S68, and S69 have 0 players coming to the Toronto North Stars.

Next up the SHL draft round. We see that the 1st and 2nd round both have a massive amount of players going to the Toronto North Stars, with 24 coming from the 1st round, and 23 from the 2nd round. The 3rd round then has 12 players, with 1 player coming from both the 4th, and 5th round.

Next up the positions of the draftees, where we see the 10 players of who we don’t have the position. The biggest position that has been drafted, is the Right Wing position with 11 players. Closely following that are left defense with 10, then come the Right Defense, and Left Wing with 9. Finally the Centers have seen 8 players being drafted, and 4 goalies were drafted over these seasons.

Next up, the SJHML round that the players got drafted into. In these the waiver wire players, and the not in portal players won’t be included. We see once again 1 draftee separating the 1st and 2nd rounds, with 15 players going in the 1st round, and 14 in the 2nd round. The 3rd round sees 12 players being drafted, and finally once again 1 player going in both the 4th and 5th round.

Let’s go to the J-teams the players got drafted by in the SJHML. The biggest count comes from the Yukon Malamutes with 9 players joining the North Stars. Following this comes the Quebec City Citadelles with 8, The Carolina Kraken with 6, both the Great Falls Grizzlies, and the Regina Elk on 5. On 4 we got the Newfoundland Berserkers. Then on 3 we have both the Kelowna Knights, and the Nevada Battleborn. Finally on 2 we got the Anchorage Armada, Maine Timber, St. Louis Scarecrows, and Vancouver Whalers. Finally the last team with 1 player being the Colorado Raptors.
