Welcome to entry 18 of the team of the week draft numbers (is it really team of the week when we are doing multiple teams per week?). This times entry is the Montreal Patriotes.
Between S62 and S76 the Montreal Patriotes have drafted 53 players, 7 of these were not in the portal, 6 of these were gotten from the waiver wire, and outside of these 2, 14 players do not have a known position in the portal. But before those exclusions come into the mix, let’s first start with the season that the players got drafted in. First off we see a massive amount of players in the most recent season, with 14 players joining in S76, behind this comes the first ever season, season 62 with 9 players drafted, then comes S64 with 7, S75 with 6, S65 and S75 with 4, S66, S67, S69, and S73 have 2 players each, and finally S63 sees 1 player being drafted. Furthermore we have a 3 seasons without draftees going to Montreal, these being S68, S70, and S71. Next up the SHL round these players were drafted into. Maybe not surprising after the last statistic, the Montreal Patriotes have had the deepest draft of any team so far, grabbing 18 players in the 2nd round, 16 in the 1st round, 9 in the 3rd round, 2 in both the 4th and 5th round, and finally 1 player in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th round. Going a full 11 layers deep grabbing up pick 201 in the most recent draft. Next up the position these players were in according to the portal, like seen above 14 players will be excluded from this stat leaving us with “only” 39 players. We do see a pretty even spread here, were outside of the 12 centers each position is pretty similar in size, with 8 left defenders being the 2nd largest group, followed by 6 left wingers, 5 right defenders, and 4 right wingers and goalies. Let’s now look at the junior league draft round. Were we will be losing the 7 players not in the portal, and the 6 players gotten from the waiver wire leaving us with 40 players. Once again the 2nd round is the biggest one with 13 draftees, once again followed by the 1st round with 11, the 3rd round with 9, one of the biggest 4th rounds so far with 5 players, and once again 2 players in round 5. But this time we are stopping there, and not going to round 11. Finally the junior league team the players came from. The biggest teams are both the Kelowna Knights and St. Louis Scarecrows with 6, this is followed by the Great Falls Grizzlies with 5, the Colorado Raptors, Newfoundland Berserkers, and Regina Elk with 4 each, then come the Maine Timber and Quebec City Citadelles on 3, Carolina Kraken, Detroit Falcons, Nevada Battleborn, Vancouver Whalers, and Yukon Malamutes with 2 each, and finally the Anchorage Armada finishes it off with the last player. And like always the long awaited chaotic chart, getting closer to completion with yet another team being added. [527 words] Edmonton Blizzard (Contains Rules) Manhattan Rage Minnesota Monarchs Buffalo Stampede San Francisco Pride Chicago Syndicate Hamilton Steelhawks Atlanta Inferno Tampa Bay Barracuda New Orleans Specters Winnipeg Aurora Seattle Argonauts Baltimore Platoon Toronto North Stars New England Wolfpack Los Angeles Panthers Philadelphia Forge
